Precision Component Industries (“PCI”) was acquired by Ohio Gratings in February of 2023. Precision Component Industries operates a full-service manufacturing enterprise specializing in high precision, low volume, complex configurations. PCI maintains a longstanding reputation in the manufacturing community for its high-quality processes, talented workforce, specialized facility and highly custom capabilities. PCI serves blue chip customers across automotive, aerospace, defense, energy and industrial end markets.
After a comprehensive, custom-built and accelerated marketing process, CM&Co created a competitive bidding environment among a mix of private equity, family office, and strategic buyers, as well as independent sponsors. Given the competitive dynamics and CM&Co’s thoughtful negotiation, the initial prospective buyer increased their ultimate bid by nearly 40% to surpass the others and secure exclusivity with PCI. During exclusivity, PCI ownership elected to move forward with a different party.
