Ryan P. Smith serves as the Chief Compliance Officer at Carleton McKenna Advisors, LLC. In this capacity, he is responsible for administering the firm’s compliance program and helping the firm adhere to industry standards.

In addition to his role at Carleton McKenna, Ryan is the Managing Member of Ryan P. Smith Law, PLC, based in Arlington, Virginia, where he provides legal and compliance services to broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, and their associates.

He earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland. Ryan is actively involved in professional organizations, including the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) Publications Committee and ProVisors DC/Metro Group 8, where he serves as a Group Leader.

Beyond his professional endeavors, he enjoys family adventures, supports local sports teams such as the Washington Nationals and Capitals, and participates in various athletic events with friends. He is also committed to community service, supporting organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association and volunteering at Calvary United Methodist Church.
